My name is Hannah Hawkins and I have been a happy and active client of Define Jacksonville for one and a half years. I am super excited for this year’s 30 in 60 Spring Challenge, especially because the next few months will bring some major milestones in my life. I turn 30 in April, I get to marry the love of my life this fall, and I am the Maid of Honor in my sister’s wedding in the spring. I can’t think of a better way to experience these upcoming major moments than feeling healthy, happy, and strong following the Define Challenge. 2020 is going to be the best year!
I made the decision to participate in Define’s Spring Challenge because:
1. I love setting goals for myself, especially ones that combine mental and physical challenges. It makes my fitness and health journey so much more interesting!
2. I wanted to be able to help showcase the studio I have joined that has encouraged and changed me over the past one and a half years. I have been a dancer for over 20 years and love that I found a studio that fills my dance void but combining choreography and rhythm-based workouts in a fun and motivating environment. But as I will showcase through my social posts covering the Challenge, having a dance background is not a requirement to reap the benefits of their Define’s classes!
3. I finally found a studio that offers a variety of classes so that I am never bored (I strongly dislike routine, even as a Type-A person) and my body has responded positively to exercises that focus on lengthening and strengthening your muscles. I suffered a bad neck and back injury in college and found that so many other fitness studios I tried did not work for my body long-term and eventually would cause the injury to flare-up after a few months. That has never happened at Define and I feel stronger and leaner than I have in years.
Throughout the Spring Challenge, I will be using social media to share and discuss my experiences at Define. Health, wellness, and fitness are my most favorite topics to discuss (as I’m sure my close friends can confirm) so I am looking forward to having more of those conversations via social media or in the studio and hope to bring new people into Define to experience the positive transformations that could happen in their own lives.
